"I stumbled upon this image, truthfully. It was left in the back seat of a taxi along with a small pipe for smoking pot, one of those DIY brass pipes that could be assembled out of a few parts from any plumbing supply aisle. At any rate, pot was, then, boring to me. Mysterious women laying (unconscious?) naked with glow-in-the-dark stars worn as pasties, the entire scene cast in eerie blue light . . . well, friend, now I’m interested in buying what’s being sold!
At any rate, I left the pipe where it lay, pocketed the photo, went about my business. Damon called for art for issue 9, and I thought the image would make a good fit."
